Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere was established during the academic year 1979 - 80 with the initiative and foresight of memebers of Bapuji Educational Association(R) on approval from Govt. of Karnataka and is duly affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. At present the institute offers 12 undergraduate, 7 postgraduate programs in Engineering and Management courses & it has 13 Research Centres.
The Bapuji Educational Association is one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in karnataka. It came into existence in 1958 with the sole purpose of starting a first grade college in Davangere. It intended to cater to the needs of those who aspired for higher educaiton. All the lovers of higher education volunteered their service whole heartedly in building up this association. Money flowed in as the donors contributed splendidly. Though imparting higher education to the aspirants was the Association's main objective, it gave attention to start a wide range of schools and colleges according to the situational needs and demands. Today the association has grown to be a big tree, like the banyan,with all its twigs and branches. It runs schools and colleges right from Nursery to Post Graduate Courses, from Diploma to Engineerng, Nursing to Medical. It also runs Pharmacy and Dental Colleges. The admission to B.E. COURSES in our institution will be made centrally at AMC Engineering College . The admission of the candidates belonging to the different categories will be made as under:
On the basis of the Common Entrance Test, COMED - K 2005 or CET-2005 and as per the merit of AIEEE score card.
The candidates who have appeared and selected by COMED - K 2005, CET-2005 & AIEEEare automatically considered for admission to B.E. COURSES. They are required to submit a separate application in a prescribed form to be procured from AMCEC.
For all categories, the basis of admission of 65% approved intake will be as per the CET-2005. The balance 35% of admission will be under Management Quota, who has to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
